Your photographs will not be accepted if the following guidelines are not followed:
* Art work must not exceed 32" x 40" including frame.
* Work must be photography only--NOT mixed media.
* There are no color restrictions for the matting.
* Unsightly framing such as badly joined frames, smudged glass or mats, etc., will not be accepted.
* Screw eyes should be no less than 3" and no more than 1/3 from top of frame.
* Wire must be slightly taut. No saw tooth hangers.
* Photos must have been taken within the last 4 years.
Requirements for Participation in Judged Art Shows
Your painting will not be accepted if the following guidelines are not followed:
•
Paintings must not exceed 32” X 40” including mat and frame.
•
In lieu of glass, Plexiglas must be used on all paintings larger than 20” X 26”.
•
Bright colored mats are not acceptable. Matting must be neutral - white, off-white, light beige, light gray, or black. A colored ¼ inch inner mat is acceptable.
•
Badly joined frames, smudged mats, smeared glass, and ragged, wavy, or over cut mat corners will not be accepted.
•
Our hanging system requires that screw eyes be placed no less than 3”
and no more than 1/3 from the top of the frame. Wire should be just
slightly taught. Metal frames must have proper hangers (no clips) with
wire. No saw tooth hangers.
•
Paintings must be original!
o
They cannot be products of workshops, classes, or any other supervised gathering either at Pine Shores or any other art association.
o
They cannot be a copy of someone else’s painting. They cannot duplicate a picture from a magazine, calendar or other commercially published work.
•
Paintings must remain on display in the gallery for the duration of the show.
•
Paintings must have been completed within the last three (3) years.
Artists are responsible for insuring their work.. PSAA will not be responsible for work damaged, lost, or stolen, however caused, while works are in the Association’s possession or in transit. All reasonable care will be taken in handling the artwork Any work left after close of exhibition will be stored at the owner’s risk. Works not picked up within 3 months of final date of exhibition will be considered Association donations and may be disposed of as determined by action of the Board of Trustees. Your entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with these terms, and your permission for your work to be photographed for an exhibition, catalog, or publicity purposes regardless of copyright.
A registration fee of $10.00 is required for the Spring and Fall judged shows. Please make checks payable to Pine Shores Art Association (PSAA).
