The Plein Air Group

A group of Pine Shores artists interested in plein air painting (French for "open air") began meeting in earnest last summer following a successful PSAA co-sponsored plein air exhibit in June (see Art Shows). The group usualy meets every Thursday in various colorful locales, including Long Beach Island, Tuckerton and Batsto Village (site of the June art competition exhibited at Pine Shores). PSAA members Lori Bonanni and Janet Nelson started meeting last spring, and then, with the encouragement of Pine Shores veteran Carol Freas, Bonanni invited other like-minded artists, via e-mail, to join them. Participants now include Lisa Budd, Tom Doyle, Ray Haworth, Amy Iversen, Tom Kimball, Joyce Lawrence, Lynn Snyder and Brad Thomas, among many others, The stunning results of the group's sessions can be found on this page.
